About Us
Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) is the statutory body that:
- Appoints Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public who practise in Singapore.
- Authenticates the signatures of Notaries Public appointed in Singapore.
- Legalises all outgoing public documents executed in or emanating from Singapore for the purposes of their production in another country.
The Board of Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public, appointed by the SAL Senate, appoints eligible advocates and solicitors, public officers and court interpreters as Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public, twice a year.
The Board of Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public consists of:
- a chairman who is a member of the SAL Senate; and
- 4 other members of SAL.
